all got on the scoresheet as The Shrews cruised to a 3-0 victory over Darlington. The first half is best forgotten by
both sides with little action in front of goal, and the only real chance falling to Darlo's Paul Campbell, who failed to knock
home a rebounded Neil Madison effort. In the second half, however, The Shrews profited from the pace and agility of Luke
Rodgers. It seemed inevitable that Shrewsbury would take the lead, and with 71 minutes gone Barry Conlon was booked for
a foul on Mick Heathcote, the resulting free-kick was cleared but the ball fell to Darren Moss who blasted the ball home from
the edge of the area. Just two minutes later Rodgers's pace forced Alex Jeannin into a clumsy tackle in the area and
Nigel Jempson converted from the spot. Darlington boss Kevin Radcliffe then changed the whole formation, but Rodgers
was once again on hand to cause havoc. The young striker sprinted clear of a square defence and rounded the keeper to
cap a brilliant performance with a goal after 81 minutes.
